Catherine Ford is a British actress who was born in Bloomsbury. After her father's divorce from the family, she was brought up by her mother, godparents, and grandmother. While she was a small girl, she was diagnosed with an obsessive compulsive disorder. She also experienced anxiety due to the word"association. Ford was attracted to acting in her teenaged years, and enrolled in the National Youth Theatre. The school she was accepted to was Sylvia Young Theatre School. After a couple of weeks, she realized this school wasn't suitable for her. Ford made an application to the Central School of Speech and Drama and finally won an interview on her fourth attempt. Tate appeared in TV shows such like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London Burning. Tate also regularly worked in the theatre, and later joined the Royal Shakespeare Company during its season of 2000-2001. But Tate soon began to garner attention for her stand-up comic, which she added to her resume in the year 1996.
